In the Beginning
In the beginning, God created. The book of Genesis tells us that God commented that what He had created was "Good." But selfish ambition has placed an ugly mark upon us. So ugly, that only an effort on God's part would be sufficient to redeem our failures.
In the beginning, God spoke of a redeemer to come. He placed this hope early in the history of man, beginning with the first man and woman. In boldness, not fearing failure, He chose to reveal the weakness and failure of His first creations created in His image. So along side our genealogical history of failure in the sight of our Creator, we also have this seed of hope, a promise that our Creator would provide the redemption price.
Is there a people on this earth that has no concept for failure? I think not. And if all peoples have a concept for failure, how do they wrestle with it's consequences? How has the answer to failure been perpetuated in each culture represented on our planet today?
I believe that all peoples have a redemptive purpose. The quest is to fulfill this purpose. It's a grand hope facing the ugly giants of bitterness and selfishness that characterize humanity. Yet our Creator is a grand creative force with a compassionate heart capable of considering all His creation as precious as though He had created only one. Its good to feel loved!
